Philly’s Casino Awarded Top Three Finish by Employees in Philadelphia Business Journal’s Best Place to Work Awards
PHILADELPHIA – Oct. 9, 2015
– When it comes to "Best Places to Work" in Philadelphia, SugarHouse’s record is perfect. Philly's casino is now five for five in the annual listing in the Philadelphia Business Journal by earning a top-three ranking, its fifth "Best Place to Work" award since opening in 2010.
Citing its no-door policy, unified culture and dedication to the community, SugarHouse’s more than 1,200 Team Members voted the casino into third place in the “Best Places to Work” program. The anonymous employee surveys recognize the top employers in the Greater Philadelphia area.
“We are delighted that our Team Members have voted us a ‘Best Place to Work’ five years in a row,” said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. “Without them, none of SugarHouse’s success would be possible. We’re able to deliver our best every day because they are the best.”
Today’s rankings were announced in the print edition of the Philadelphia Business Journal, as well as online. SugarHouse placed in the extra-large category, defined as businesses having 1,000 employees or more.
Through the surveys, administered by Quantum Workplace, employees score their place of employment focusing on work-life balance; respect and caring for employees; recognition of accomplishments; feeling empowered; good teamwork and commitment to community.
Continued Hamilton, “I am extremely proud of the fun workplace environment we’ve created, including excellent team camaraderie, open communication channels and great benefits.”
As the casino’s $164 million expansion nears completion, SugarHouse begins its search for 500 new, full-time employees this fall. New Team Members will populate a variety of positions, including; slots, facilities, food and beverage, casino operations, security, cashiering, environmental services, marketing and more. Interested applicants can visit career fairs hosted by SugarHouse to meet casino representatives, learn about company culture and receive information on open positions:
